2013 Los Angeles County Automotive Technology Competition
Sonora High School's Automotive Team qualified as a "Top L.A. County High School Automotive Team" allowing them to compete in the 14th Annual Los Angeles County Automotive Technology Competition at Cerritos College
First Place Trophy
The high school automotive student team of Steven Avola and Michael Skaggs will represent Los Angeles County in the 2013 National Automotive Technology Competition in New York City.
The student teams earned this opportunity by first competing in the Phase I "Written" portion of the competition, earning one of L.A. County's Top 5-Positions to the Phase 2 "Hands-On" Competition.
Phase 2 challenged the teams to 12-workstations that included automotive subject areas of, but not limited to, Electrical, HVAC, Precision Measurements and Electronic Fuel Injection Systems. Team Sonora was also subjected to a Job Interview workstation, where they placed 2nd.
