Course Description
Welcome to Introduction to Automotive Technology! I am pleased to have your student enrolled in my class and look forward to an exciting school year. This career technical education (CTE) class teaches skills and qualities needed to succeed in the automotive field. I will be using a variety of instructional methods including group projects and activities, lecture and discussion that integrate both academic and CTE standards.
Course Objectives
This course provides training for employment in entry level positions in the automotive field. Training occurs through classroom instruction and participation in shop/lab environments. Focus is on experiential learning and developmentally appropriate practices. The curriculum develops such critical workplace skills as communication and interpersonal skills, personal and professional growth, critical thinking,
creative problem-solving, strong academic skills, safety/health, and an understanding of the role of technology. These skills are central in preparing all students for effective, successful careers.
